This website is dedicated to the late Bob Schreiner and all Schreiner Colleaques who worked for this outstanding company from 1945 until 2005.

For ease of use in constructing this website, I have put everything on this one page, so all you have to do is to scroll down the years on the left side.

1952 - Aero Ypenburg n.v . With this company Schreiner specializes in advertising banner towing with the Piper Super Cruiser

1953 - Texel and Botgat operations . At Texel Airport Schreiner carries out target towing exercises on behalf of the Minsistry of Defense.
In the early days using the Havard as well as Supermarine Spitfire aircraft for banner towing, later being followed by the Northrop KD2R remote controlled target drones.
This operation being Schreiner's contract with the longest duration in its history.

1957 - Schreiner Aero Contractors . Aero Ypenburg is being re-named "Schreiner Aero Contractors"

1957 - Schreiner celebrates its 121/2 year Anniversary

1958 - Iran. Schreiner commences a new venture for the Iranian Oil Exploration and Producing Company in Iran.

1959 - Libya. On behalf of Shell and Esso Schreiner commences operations in Tripoli, Libya, making use of a Piper Apache and Dornier 27.

1960 - Nigeria . In Nigeria, Aero Contractors Company of Nigeria was founded. Fleet size being one Piper Apache and one Dornier 27.
Aero as its called today, operates a fleet of helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft providing support to the offshore and onshore oil and gas operations, where it has a market share of approximately 45%. In addition Aero operates scheduled domestic flights.

Aero Taxi. At Rotterdam Airport a new Aero Taxi activity started, using light single and twin engine aircraft.

1961- Brussels. For the support of the trading activities of Schreiner & Co., Schreiner Aircraft S.A. in Brussels was founded.
Phs. Van Ommeren n.v. The shipping company "Phs. Van Ommeren" buys 50 % of the shares in Schreiner Aero Contractors (Netherlands).

1963 - Airline Services Schreiner Airways opens scheduled passenger services Groningen-Amsterdam- Rotterdam using the "de Havilland Dove". Schreiner Airways purchases a Douglas DC-3 "Dakota" form KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. 1981 - Argentina - For "Total Austral" two new Dauphin C1 helicopters are being deployed for offshore flight to Straight Magellan. 1983 - KLM joins in shareholding of Schreiner. Two-thirds of the Schreiner Aviation Group shareholding changed to new participants: KLM, Nationale Nederlanden, NPM and Financierings Maatschappij Industrieel Garantiefonds s'Gravenhage. Philippines - Schreiner takes part in a joint-venture with KLM Helicopters. Helicopters used are two AS350 helikopters for City services Inc.

Spain - Together with the Spanish helicopter operator Helic s.a. , a AS355 helicopter is being operated for offshore missions serving Eniepsa oil company.

India - Based on the airport of Bombay one SA330J Puma helicopter is being deployed for offshore missions serving the Oil and Natural Gas Commission. A second Puma follows in 1984, together with two Dauphin SA365N.

1984 - China. On behalf of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (C.A.A.C.) two DHC6 Twin Otters are being operated serving several oil & exploration companies in South East China. Furthermore Schreiner carries out the pilot training of Chinese pilots and engineers. 1984 - China. United Arab Emirates - The acquisition of Heliswift Services S.A. took place. This company, operating out of RAS Al Khaimah, serving the area of the Arabian Gulf ,using helicopters to carry out pilots ship services as well as Television Crews. 1985 - Airspeed Helikopters. Schreiner Airways and KLM Helikopters establish a new helicopter joint-venture named "Airspeed", with its home base at Rotterdam Airport. 1985 - Airspeed Helikopters. 1985 - Friendship Simulation Company. Foundation of 1985 - Friendship Simulation Company. Foundation of this joint venture between Schreiner and KLM on a 50-50 basis.
In 1987 Schreiner FSC started its actual simulator operation at this center as "Friendship Simulation Company". The efficiency of this center is highly appreciated by its visitors through the years and formed the basis for Schreiner's centers in Amsterdam, Brussels and Dallas. This company is now owned and operated by CAE Aviation Europe.

1986 - Royal Netherlands Air Force. Schreiner & Co was awarded a long-term contract for the initial training of jet fighters pilots for the Royal Netherlands Air Force operating a fleet of 10 Pilatus PC-7 turboprop trainers.

1989 - Air Cargo Europe. 1989 - Air Cargo Europe. Schreiner Airways and Zimex (Switzerland) establish a joint-venture, named "Air Cargo Europe". Operating for KLM-Cargo, using the Lockheed -100-30 Hercules aircraft.

Sabena World Airlines . Sabena World Airlines .Schreiner Airways was awarded a "wet-lease" contract for Sabena World Airlines, operating the "de Havilland" Dash-8 aircraft for 45 passengers, on the Intra-European network of Sabena.

1990 - Schreiner Airways Helicopters. 1990 - Schreiner Airways Helicopters. Termination of the joint-cooperation agreement between KLM Helikopters and Schreiner.
Schreiner Airways establishes its own independent helicopter operation, which serve oil & gas exploration companies operating on the North Sea, for the "NAM,. Mobil, Conoco, Unocal as well as pilots ships services

1992 - Malaysian Helicopter Services. 1992 - Malaysian Helicopter Services. One third of the Schreiner Aviation Group shares are being acquired by a new participant, MHS ( Malaysian Helicopter Services).

1994 - Schreiner Management 1994 - Schreiner Management acquires one third of the shareholding of the Schreiner Aviation Group.

1995 - Schreiner celebrates its 50th Anniversary

Air Exel. Air Exel. Schreiner Aviation Group takes part for 49% in the "regional airliner" Air Exel Commuter, based at Maastricht Airport, Limburg, presently named KLM Exel. Air Exel was founded on April 26th, 1991 and operated its first commercial flight from Maastricht Airport to Amsterdam on May 1st, 1991.

1996 - Market Air. 1996 - Market Air. Schreiner participates in Market Air. This company specializes in Marketing & Sales Inclusive Tour programs and Aircraft Leasing on behalf of charter airlines and touroperators

1997 - OVERNAME KLM-BELANG IN KLM ERA HELICOPTERS BV DOOR SCHREINER LUCHTVAART GROEP BV
De KLM en Schreiner hebben in principe overeenstemming bereikt over de overname van het KLM-belang van 51% in KLM ERA Helicopters. Hiertoe hebben beide maatschappijen een intentieverklaring ondertekend. Over het bedrag dat met deze transactie is gemoeid, wordt door de betrokken partijen geen mededeling gedaan. De overige 49% van KLM ERA Helicopters is in handen van Rowan Companies in de Verenigde Staten. Schreiner is in principe bereid ook de overige 49% in KLM ERA over te nemen. Het besluit van de KLM om haar belang van 51% in KLM ERA Helicopters over te dragen, is onder meer gebaseerd op de sterk veranderende marktomstandigheden in de helikopter-industrie. Binnen enkele jaren is het aantal toonaangevende operators in deze markt met meer dan de helft teruggebracht. Dit is het gevolg van omvangrijke fusies en overnames die deze industrietak de laatste jaren zo nadrukkelijk kenmerkt. Als gevolg van deze ontwikkeling is schaalgrootte van absoluut belang om de toekomst veilig te kunnen stellen.
Schreiner is al lange tijd, en met succes, actief op de internationale off-shore markt. Met deze overname wordt door de betrokken maatschappijen invulling gegeven aan de noodzakelijke schaalvergroting, waardoor verdere groei mogelijk wordt. De verkoop van het KLM-belang in KLM ERA Helicopters past tevens in het streven van de KLM om zich in de toekomst meer op haar kernactiviteiten te richten.
Mede in het licht van het voornemen van de KLM om haar aandeel in KLM ERA Helicopters te verkopen, is in overleg met de werknemersorganisaties de medewerkers de keus geboden; of in dienst van KLM ERA te treden of in aanmerking te komen voor een dienstverband bij de KLM. Meer dan 70% van de gedetacheerde KLM-medewerkers bij KLM ERA heeft inmiddels de wens te kennen gegeven in dienst te willen treden bij het helikopterbedrijf. Daarbij vallen zij onder de CAO van KLM ERA Helicopters BV. De nieuwe organisatie zal onder de naam Noordzee Helicopters BV op de Nederlandse en Britse off-shore markt opereren.

KLM-Cargo. Schreiner Airways was awarded a new contract from KLM-Cargo, using leased Lockheed Hercules L-100-30 aircraft.
Hoofddorp. Hoofddorp. Head office move from Leiden to the new office complex at Hoofddorp (near Amsterdam).
HAL Investment Company (Rotterdam) HAL Investment Company (Rotterdam) participates for 33% in Schreiner Aviation Group .

1998 - Schreiner's acquisition of EATC simulator company in Belgium. Schreiner concluded the acquisition of the European Aviation Training Center N.V. EATC was founded in January 1992 and based in a modern simulator training complex op 6500 m2 at Brussels Zaventem Airport.

Schreiner North Sea Helicopters Schreiner, KLM and Rowan concluded an agreement for the acquisition of the transfer of all KLM-ERA shares to Schreiner.. This new company will operate on the Netherlands and British Offshore market using the name Schreiner Noordzee Helicopters BV.

Acquisition of BF Goodrich Inc. by Schreiner Components In July 1998,Schreiner & Co acquired the activities of BF Goodrich Inc., in Zevenaar, the Netherlands. BF Goodrich itself will retain a 20% interest in the activities of Schreiner Components b.v.

BCA - Beroepsopleiding Verkeersvlieger B-1 Cursus Amsterdam b.v. Schreiner's Training Division acquired the license training activities of BCA at Schiphol Airport.

Acquisition of Flight Systems Holland Schreiner acquires "Flight Systems Holland b.v." which is being operated by Schreiner's Trade & Industry division.

1999- Schreiner Target Services Canada Ltd. Schreiner Target Services Canada Ltd. was awarded a contract by the" Canadian Public works and General Services Contracts" for "target support services" serving the Canadian Army for the Portable Moving Target System (PMTS)."

Airbus A300 B4 for Schreiner Airways . Since 1998 Schreiner Airways operated cargo freight services using the Lockheed L100 Hercules freighter on several European destinations for KLM Cargo. This aircraft with a 20-ton volume freight capacity turned out to be too small and therefor being replaced by the Airbus A300B4 Freighter on June 1st. 1999.

2000 - Extended Amsterdam Training Center Schreiner FSC has opened its extended training center in Amsterdam per the 1 st of March.The new center, which has seven simulator bays available, enables Schreiner to provide more and better services to its customers. Two new simulators will be available to the customers being the CRJ-200 and the Boeing 737-800. Additionally the new building provides a number of new classrooms for ground school and JAR-OPS courses. These ultra modern classrooms are equipped with state of the art presentation tools.

New Boeing 757/767 simulator at Brussels Schreiner FSC has ordered a brand new B757/767 simulator. This simulator became operational for training per July 2001 and is housed in Schreiner's training center in Brussels. This level D simulator can be converted from B757 to B767 configuration in between sessions. This option guarantees maximum planning flexibility to Schreiner's customers.

New Airbus 300 simulator Schreiner FSC acquired an Airbus A300-B2/B4 simulator to be located in it's Brussels training center. This simulator will be ready for training per July 2000. Besides Schreiner Airways, other European cargo operators are expected to make use of this first class simulator.

New Boeing 737 Next Generation simulator Schreiner FSC has placed a brand new B737-800 simulator. The simulator is operational per July 2000 and is housed in the new part of Schreiner's training center in Amsterdam. Schreiner expects to fulfill the increasing demand for training with its customers on this aircraft type.

New Dallas / Fort Worth simulator center Schreiner FSC – USA has moved into their new training facilities at Dallas / Fort Worth airport in July. The new training center is designed according to Schreiner's usual functional concept and offers space to four simulators. Currently a Dornier 328TP and a brand new Dornier 328JET are housed in this center. The site caters for an extension of up to twelve simulators.

New JAR-OPS courses Schreiner Flight Crew Training, which was the first approved TRTO in the Netherlands, has approval for its JAR-OPS courses. At its new facilities typical JAR-OPS courses like dangerous goods, CRM, Jeppesen, Flight planning, etc. is conducted to Schreiner's customers. These courses can ideally be combined with type rating or recurrent training that is conducted at Schreiner's simulator center.

MCC courses Schreiner FCT established the JAR-FCL approved Multi Crew Co-operation (MCC) courses. Under the new JAR-FCL regulations every pilot must have undergone this course. So far this course was expensive and only available in the UK.

Schreiner Airways Cargo operations Since 1 July 2000 Schreiner Airways commenced a 3 weekly service on the route Stansted/Amsterdam/Istanbul and v.v. The operation to Istanbul extended the services Schreiner Airways provided to the industry.

2001- CAE has been awarded a major upgrade contract for the Airbus A300-B4 Full Flight Simulator (FFS) owned by Schreiner Aviation Training of the Netherlands. This contract is valued at approximately $3 million (Cdn).

Mogelijk ontslagen bij Schreiner Luchtvaart Groep
"Onzekerheid overheerst, en daarom zullen we als CNV Burgerluchtvaart de komende maanden uiterst alert blijven op eventuele negatieve ontwikkelingen." Dat stelt vakgroepbestuurder Ingeborg Baltussen naar aanleiding van de vanochtend aangekondigde reorganisatie bij de Schreiner Luchtvaart Groep op Schiphol. Ontslagen lijken daarbij niet geheel uitgesloten al heeft Baltussen goede hoop dat ook dan het gekwalificeerde personeel van Schreiner snel elders aan de slag kan.

Onthulling kunstwerk de zwevende man in Hooofdorp
Wethouder Cees Spijkers onthult woensdag 17 januari '01 het kunstwerk van Stang Gubbels; de Zwevende man. Het kunstwerk is geplaatst in het water tussen het Nederlands Luchtvaart College (NLC) en de Schreiner Luchtvaartgroep aan de Van Heuven Goedhartlaan in Hoofddorp.

CAE and Schreiner Luchtvaart Groep B.V. , have signed an exclusive agreement under which CAE is to acquire Netherlands-based Schreiner Aviation Training B.V. (SAT). Under the terms of the agreement CAE would acquire 100% of the outstanding shares of SAT including all of SAT's training subsidiaries for 193 million Euros (approximately C$260 million).

CAE Inc. has completed its purchase of Netherlands-based Schreiner Aviation Training B.V.
With the purchase of Netherlands-based Schreiner Aviation Training in 2001, CAE became the world's second largest independent provider of aviation training services.

Schreiner Airways Cameroun s.a. An experienced fixed wing and helicopter operator on the international oil scene, with operations throughout the Republic of Cameroun and Tchad for Oil pipeline support
In July 2000 the project for the construction of the 1000+ km oil pipeline, originating from Chad, through Cameroon to connect the oilfields in the southern part of Chad to an extension of the Cameroon coast in the Atlantic Ocean was resumed. This year and having been awarded a long-term contract for the operations in Chad and Cameroon, we now carry out operations with nine fixed and rotary wing aircraft, consisting of four de Havilland "Twin Otters", one de havilland "Dash 8-300", one Beechcraft "King Air 200" and two twin turbine helicopters : Eurocopters SA 365 N and one SA 365 C2.

2002 - Schreiner benoemt Peter J. Legro tot Commissaris Hoofddorp, 4 juni 2002
Tijdens de vergadering van de Raad van Commissarissen van de Schreiner Luchtvaart Groep B.V. (Schreiner) op 27 mei 2002 is Peter J. Legro benoemd tot commissaris. Hij is de opvolger van de heer ir. G.A.M.J. Daeninck, die op 1 januari 2002 als commissaris terug trad.
De heer Legro was laatstelijk werkzaam als president-directeur van Transavia Airlines, waar hij op 14 mei 2002 na 23 jaar afscheid nam. Daarvoor werkte hij 18 jaar bij PanAmerican Airlines in diverse functies en landen, waaronder de Verenigde Staten, Afrika en de Stille Zuidzee.

2003 - New shareholder Schreiner Aviation Group B.V.
Schreiner Aviation Group herewith announces that her shareholders today agreed on a Letter of Intent, which states that CHC Helicopter Corporation (CHC) will acquire 100% of the shares of the Schreiner Aviation Group B.V.
The activities of Schreiner that mainly consist of aviation services for the business-to-business market provide a perfect fit with the core business of CHC.
The activities of both companies are geographical complementary and combined they will be world leader in the helicopter services for the oil and gas industry.
The company.s Works Council will be asked for advice shortly, the Unions have been informed.

Nieuwe Aandeelhouder Schreiner Luchtvaart Groep B.V.
Schreiner maakt hierbij bekend dat haar aandeelhouders een Letter of Intent zijn overeengekomen met het Canadese bedrijf CHC Helicopter Corporation (CHC) waarin staat dat CHC 100% van de aandelen van Schreiner zal verkrijgen.
De activiteiten van Schreiner, die in hoofdzaak bestaan uit aviation services ten behoeve van de zakelijke markt, sluiten bijzonder goed aan bij de core-business van CHC. De activiteiten van beide bedrijven zijn geografisch complementair en de combinatie wordt wereldleider in helikopterservices aan de olie en gas industrie.
De ondernemingsraad van Schreiner zal op korte termijn om advies worden gevraagd en de bij Schreiner betrokken vakbonden zijn over de voorgenomen overname in kennis gesteld.

2003 - Financieel Jaarverslag 2002 Schreiner Luchtvaart Groep B.V.
Jaarcijfers 2002 De Algemene Vergadering van Aandeelhouders van de Schreiner Luchtvaart Groep B.V. (Schreiner) heeft op 21 mei 2003 het jaarverslag 2002 goedgekeurd. Het netto resultaat was 434.000 euro negatief (2001: 92 mln euro). Het operationeel resultaat was - 2,7 miljoen euro positief (2001: 32 miljoen euro negatief). Het resultaat is volledig in lijn met de uitgesproken verwachting aan het begin van het jaar.
Na de herstructurering en de reorganisatie die heeft plaatsgevonden in de jaren 2001 en 2002 is de directie ervan overtuigd dat de onderneming in 2003 een verdere stijging zal laten zien van de operationele winst. Voor het jaar 2003 verwacht de directie een netto resultaat te realiseren van tenminste 5 mln euro na belasting.
In de komende jaren zullen de investeringen ten behoeve van de vlootvernieuwing in de Noordzee en West-Afrika toenemen tot een niveau van 12 -euro 15 mln euro per jaar. Deze investeringen zijn gebaseerd op positieve lange termijn verwachtingen.

2004 - De Koninklijke Landmacht maakt vanaf 1 januari 2005 geen gebruik meer van het luchtdoelartillerie-schietkamp bij Den Helder. Dit betekent dat de functies van het betrokken personeel per 1 januari 2005 komen te vervallen.
De landmacht ziet af van verder gebruik van het terrein, omdat studie heeft aangetoond dat het houden van schietoefeningen in Duitsland goedkoper is. Op jaarbasis levert dit een besparing van 1,8 miljoen op. Bij het schietkamp en de daaraan gerelateerde eenheden zijn ongeveer 70 personen werkzaam, voor het merendeel burgers. Voor hen wordt binnen Defensie een andere functie gezocht. Verder maakt de landmacht voor de oefeningen gebruik van doelvliegtuigen, die door zo´n 15 man worden bediend en onderhouden. Het gaat hier niet om Defensiepersoneel, maar om personeel van het bedrijf Schreiner Airways.
Het luchtdoelartillerie-schietkamp bestaat uit het Luitenant-kolonel Maaskamp aan de Nieuweweg te Den Helder, waar de staf van het schietkamp gevestigd is, en de terreinen Falga (gemeente Zijpe) en Botgat (gemeente Den Helder).Het terrein Falga wordt per direct gesloten en Botgat per 1 januari 2005. De toekomstige bestemming van het Luitenant-kolonel Maaskamp is nog onbekend.

2005 - SAMCO Aircraft Maintenance verzelfstandigd
De directie en de aandeelhouder (CHC te Canada) van de Schreiner Luchtvaart Groep te Hoofddorp hebben ingestemd met een management buy out van Samco (Schreiner Aircraft Maintenance). De huidige directie en het management zullen Samco als zelfstandig bedrijf, gevestigd op het vliegveld Maastricht Aachen Airport, voortzetten onder de naam Samco Aircraft Maintenance.

Reeds gedurende een langere periode behoorde Samco als onderhoudsbedrijf niet meer tot de core business van de Schreiner Luchtvaart Groep. Bij de overname van de Schreiner Luchtvaart Groep door CHC Helicopter Corporation (CHC) te Canada in de eerste helft van dit jaar is aan de directie en het management van Samco de gelegenheid geboden om te onderzoeken of een management buy out realiseerbaar is.

De directie van de Schreiner Luchtvaart Groep en de directie en management van Samco zijn van mening dat deze buy out goede perspectieven biedt voor het behoud van onderhoudswerkzaamheden aan vliegtuigen en daarmee van werkgelegenheid op de luchthaven Maastricht Aachen Airport in Zuid-Limburg. Partijen zijn een aandelen overdracht overeengekomen, waardoor voor de opdrachtgevers en voor de medewerkers continuïteit is gegarandeerd.
De ondernemingsraad heeft met de buy out ingestemd. Met de vakorganisaties is een op Samco toegesneden pakket arbeidsvoorwaarden overeengekomen en met de banken is over de financieringsvoorwaarden overeenstemming bereikt.
Met de verzelfstandiging van Samco is de werkgelegenheid voor 85 medewerkers zeker gesteld alsmede de bedrijfsactiviteiten van Samco op het vliegveld Maastricht Aachen Airport.

2006 - Borstbeeld luchtvaartpionier Schreiner siert jubilerend Rotterdam Airport 26.06.2006
Donderdag 22 juni 2006 is op Rotterdam Airport een bronzen borstbeeld van luchtvaartpionier B.A.M. (Bob) Schreiner onthuld door zijn kleinzoon, de heer Olivier Schreiner en mr. R.H.J. Wondolleck, algemeen directeur van Rotterdam Airport.
De heer Schreiner, grondlegger van de Schreiner groep, koos al in 1964 voor Rotterdam Airport als thuisbasis voor zijn luchtvaartactiviteiten, reden waarom de familie Schreiner juist voor de Rotterdamse luchthaven heeft gekozen als prominente huisvesting voor het door kunstenares Lia Krol vervaardigde bijzondere beeld.
B.A.M. Schreiner wordt gerekend tot de ware luchtvaartpioniers uit de vorige eeuw.

In 1964 startte hij zijn luchtvaartmaatschappij Schreiner Airways waarmee hij jaarlijks zon 80.000 passagiers naar zonnige oorden in Zuid Europa vervoerde. Later bouwde Schreiner zijn imperium verder uit met de overname van de Nationale Luchtvaart School. Bovendien ontwikkelde Schreiner een grote diversiteit aan activiteiten in de gehele wereld, waaronder Afrika en Indonesië.

Bij het grote publiek is Schreiner Airways vooral bekend vanwege de helicoptervluchten ten behoeve van de activiteiten in de Rotterdamse haven en het Botlek gebied.
In 1987 trad Bob Schreiner af als president directeur van zijn bedrijf en bleef daarna als president commissaris nauw betrokken. De heer Schreiner overleed op 31 december 1994 op 79-jarige leeftijd. Momenteel is de Schreiner Luchtvaartgroep in zijn geheel onderdeel van het Canadese CHC (Canadian Helicopter Corporation) met het hoofdkantoor in Vancouver.

28 april 2009 - Koninklijke Onderscheiding voor Gerard Wiijntje
Valkenburg , 29 april 2009. Dhr. G. Wijntje uit Valkenburg , voormalig directeur van Samco Aircraft Maintenance., is benoemd tot Ridder in de Orde van Oranje-Nassau. Deze onderscheiding werd in aanwezigheid van familie, oud collega's en vrienden persoonlijk uitgereikt door de staatssecretaris van het Ministerie van Verkeer & Waterstaat.
